Cleveland, USA – The  120 to 104 victory over the Charlotte Hornets marked the Cleveland Cavaliers’ second straight triumph over the visitors. Evan Mobley scored 26 points in a productive showing.

In addition to having a team-high six rebounds, Mobley made 10 of his 16 field goal attempts and was 6 for 6 at the line.

Besides Lamar Stevens and Ricky Rubio, Cedi Osman scored 24 points off the bench, Caris LeVert scored 22, Darius Garland scored 19, and Cedi Osman scored 19.

The Cavaliers, who have won five of their previous six games, had a rare margin of victory that seemed comfortable. Six points or fewer determined their past four games.

Kelly Oubre Jr. of Charlotte scored 28 points for the Hornets after playing in his first game back from a painful back. Gordon Hayward scored ten points, Terry Rozier added twenty-two, and JT Thor, a backup, added eleven.

On Sunday, again in Charlotte, the clubs faced off for the second time in three days, with Cleveland prevailing 114 to 108.

In comparison to the Hornets’ 6-for-23 3-point shooting, the Cavaliers made 14 of their 30 attempts, missing their final four attempts. Around the board, Cleveland had a field goal percentage of 51.1.

The Hornets’ 22 giveaways, after 19 the game before, indicated that turnovers were once again an issue for them. Many turnovers were committed by eight Charlotte players.

Despite having a 40 to 30 advantage in rebounds, Charlotte still fell short. Only 76 field goal attempts and 15 free throws were made by the Hornets.

A little more than three minutes into the third quarter, Cleveland held a 73 to 52 advantage. In the opening four minutes of the second half, Mobley scored eight points.

At the half, the Cavaliers were up 63 to 48 thanks to seven 3-pointers made as opposed to two by the Hornets.

28 of Charlotte’s first-half points came from a collaboration between Rozier and Oubre. The team’s other players all had a maximum of five.
