The Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) 2022 Regular Season is in the thick of action, and as of now, the outstanding players are making their mark in various skillset. In a league composed of 22 teams with more or less 440 players in total, landing in the top ten (10) of a statistical category is an achievement.
From scoring, passing, blocking, stealing, and rebounding, we take a look into the list of players who are excelling. Based on the list, the top players in each category are a diverse mix of young guns and experienced veterans.

Domark Matillano of the Muntinlupa Cagers is currently the leading scorer in the MPBL with an average of 17.7 points per game. Nonetheless, he only played three (3) games so far since the Muntinlupa Cagers joined the season late.
Enzo Joson of the Marikina Shoemasters is the second best scorer as he averaged 17.5 points per game in four (4) games so far. Completing the top three (3) is Damian Lasco of the Caloocan Excellence who is posting 17.2 points per game.

Marcy Arellano of the Quezon City Capitals is the best MPBL player insofar as passing is concerned. He is averaging 7.8 assists per game.
Keanu Caballero of the Rizal Golden Coolers is the second best passer in the MPBL’s 2022 Regular Season with his own average of 7.6 assists per outing. Not to be outdone is Christopher “Topeng” Lagrama of the Pampanga Giant Lanterns who is producing an average of 7.5 assists per game.

In terms of rebounding, Dhon Reverente of the General Santos Warriors is currently on top of the competition after grabbing an average of 13.4 rebounds per game. He corralled 1.2 rebounds more than Mark Yee of Bacolod Bingo Plus who is the second best rebounder with 12.2 boards a game.
Paolo Javillonar of the Caloocan Excellence is the third best rebounder with his own average of 11.5 rebounds per match.
