MANILA, Philippines – After his historic 100th victory, Meneses looks to the future.
As a suitable legacy for a coach who keeps pushing the boundaries of greatness in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL), Sherwin Meneses’ name has come to be associated with success.
Meneses became the most successful head coach in PVL history on Tuesday after leading Creamline to a decisive victory over Chery Tiggo in Game 1 of their 2024-25 All-Filipino Conference quarterfinal series, 25-10, 27-25, 25-21. In just three years and one day since he secured his first PVL coaching victory over PLDT on March 17, 2022, the victory was his 100th league victory in his career.
Meneses’ track record demonstrates his capacity to assemble strong teams. He has an amazing win-loss record of 100-15 during his tenure, which translates to an astonishing 86.9% winning rate. Creamline is now a dominant force that regularly produces top-notch results because of his strategic vision, player development skills, and dedication to collaboration.
Even after accomplishing this noteworthy milestone, Meneses is still goal-oriented. In order to maintain the team’s success and win more titles, he places greater value on the journey ahead than on individual accomplishments. In order to keep his players motivated to win, he places a strong emphasis on discipline, collaboration, and constant progress.
Meneses leads the National University’s women’s volleyball team in the UAAP, demonstrating her importance in collegiate volleyball outside of the PVL. The Lady Bulldogs have been dominant under his leadership, ending the current season’s opening round with an impeccable 7-0 record. He fosters a culture of excellence and makes sure that his players develop both personally and as a team, so his effect goes beyond simply winning games.
The coach is still dedicated to honing tactics, enhancing team dynamics, and aiming for even more success as Meneses and Creamline continue their playoff run. Even though he has already achieved 100 victories, he is still committed to adding more, demonstrating that his winning ways are far from over.
Meneses Aims for Greater Success After Reaching 100 Wins. Although he was pleased to attain 100 career victories, Rald Ricafort stressed the significance of gaining more wins, especially in the current season and conference. He stayed committed to building on this accomplishment and hoping to win more games in the future.
With seven league titles under his belt, Meneses has solidified his status as one of the Premier Volleyball League’s (PVL) most successful coaches. His reputation as a highly talented tactician has been cemented by his ability to guide teams to titles. In addition to the PVL, he is the head coach of National University’s UAAP women’s volleyball team. The Lady Bulldogs have shown incredible domination under his direction, finishing the season with a perfect 7-0 record.
Meneses believes that perseverance, discipline, and a dedication to lifelong learning are the keys to success in volleyball. In every squad he manages, he continuously places a high priority on these principles, making sure that players improve both individually and collectively. According to him, preserving solid bonds between coaches and players is essential to attaining long-term success.
Meneses recognizes his players’ commitment and coachability, as well as their readiness to follow directions and strive for team success. He is still dedicated to creating an atmosphere that encourages self-control and collaboration so that his teams can reach their maximum potential. He hopes to maintain their improvement and improve their performance even more by consistently improving tactics and fostering team unity.
Meneses is still focused on the next difficulties even though his legacy already includes 100 victories. He wants to lead his teams to more wins, aiming for consistency and more achievements in the UAAP and PVL. His guidance and focus on chemistry, discipline, and strategic growth continue to mold the teams he coaches, setting them up for future success.
