MANILA, Philippines – Massive crowds and major attention were attracted to the most recent stop of the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) On Tour in Vigan City, Ilocos Sur, demonstrating the league’s ongoing impact in the provinces. Alyssa Valdez, longtime leader of the Creamline Cool Smashers, returned for the tour and once again proved to be an unstoppable force both on and off the court. The Chavit Coliseum was rocking on both nights of the tournament, thanks to the enthusiastic crowd that came out to support the volleyball teams and the sport in the north of the country.

As part of their Vigan campaign’s opening leg, the Creamline Cool Smashers dominated Capital1 in straight sets. High enthusiasm and strong team bonding were hallmarks of this triumph, which served as a springboard for the rest of the season. Alyssa Valdez contributed across various measures and was instrumental in calming the team’s nerves. In addition to her nine points, her defensive efforts were noteworthy, as she recorded five receptions and six superb digs. With an estimated tens of thousands in attendance, the event set an electric tone and brought the local fans even closer to the visiting athletes.

The excitement continued into the second night’s highly anticipated battle between Creamline and the Akari Chargers. Nearly 5,000 people showed up to watch, even though there were delays due to bad weather and heavy traffic in the city. Once again, the squad reacted calmly and forcefully. In a four-set triumph, Creamline was led by Valdez’s double-double performance—16 points and 18 great receptions. With their win, the Cool Smashers improved to 2-0 in Pool B and were well-positioned to advance to the knockout round.

With Valdez back in the game, Creamline’s campaign has a new leader and more depth than before. With eight seasons under her belt and a slew of MVP awards under her belt, she is a constant source of inspiration for the club and its supporters. She is an important part of Creamline’s early success in the competition because of her experience, consistency, and dominant court presence. A hallmark of her game is her capacity to keep her cool and perform admirably when the stakes are high.

In terms of crowd size and level of participation from fans, the PVL On Tour’s stop in Vigan was among the most fruitful thus far. The large crowd proved that there is a thirst for top-tier volleyball in the provinces, which was the goal of the PVL’s expansion plan. Such gatherings increase the league’s popularity among casual fans and introduce the sport to others in the area who would otherwise have a hard time attending professional matches.

With the leadership of its seasoned veterans at the helm, Creamline has achieved a new standard of strategic balance and execution. The squad has been able to weather early storms thanks to its skill in managing scoring runs, transition, and defensive adjustments. With Valdez as a stabilizing force, the ball may be moved with more confidence and with smoother revolutions. Having Valdez as a fulcrum in both the front and back rows of the court provides crucial consistency and unity as players switch up important positions.

Valdez is still an important character in elevating the cultural importance of volleyball in the Philippines, even after her efforts in match scenarios have ended. The way she engages with supporters, particularly in areas like Ilocos Sur, highlights the importance of the sport’s community-oriented spirit. Her regular participation in community events, clinics, and public appearances boosts the league’s reputation and inspires future players to reach their full potential.

Creamline will be looking to keep their perfect record intact and earn a spot in the crossover semifinals as they advance through the group round. Teams will likely hone their strategies and scout each other more thoroughly in their upcoming matches, making for more intense competition. Nevertheless, Creamline is among the clear favorites to make it to the final because of Valdez’s consistent leadership and the team’s combined expertise and energy.

Vigan is an example of how professional volleyball can thrive in provincial cities, and the PVL On Tour project is still going strong. The success of the Creamline Cool Smashers, supported by the outstanding form of Alyssa Valdez, reflects not only sporting excellence but also the effective promotion and accessibility of the game.
