For the World Cup match against the United States on Friday, England manager Gareth Southgate plans to start Harry Kane, who is healthy.

In England’s opening World Cup game against Iran, Southgate made the decision to give Bukayo Saka and Jude Bellingham their first World Cup starts. He was rewarded with a thrilling 6-2 triumph.

Along with Raheem Sterling and second-half replacements Marcus Rashford and Jack Grealish, the pair both scored goals — Bellingham opened the early before Saka scored twice.

Despite having a scan on his right ankle because of a challenge during the match against Iran, Kane, England’s captain, is ready to lead the line.

The Tottenham Hotspur forward, 29, was able to practice with his teammates on Wednesday, and Southgate subsequently deemed him fit for the match on Friday.

Harry Maguire, a defender for Manchester United, is also expected to keep his spot in England’s starting lineup for his 50th game for his country.

The 29-year- old’s involvement had raised some concerns as he was taken off in the second half of Iran’s victory after complaining of illness.

In a press conference on Thursday, Maguire, however, made it plain that he was healthy enough to play against the USMNT.

It is expected that Southgate will stick with the defensive lineup that was so effective on Monday, with Kieran Trippier and Luke Shaw lining up on each side of Harry Maguire and John Stones.

Declan Rice and Bellingham are likely to play together in the middle, with Sterling, Mason Mount, and Saka positioned behind Kane.

Rashford and Grealish are already having an impact as substitutes, so England has a number of in-form options to choose from the bench.

Also introduced were Callum Wilson, Eric Dier, and Phil Foden. Wilson missed a Tuesday on-field practice because England is reportedly carefully controlling the 30-year- old following his recovery from a hamstring injury earlier this season.

England is currently in first place in Group B and will advance to the knockout round if they defeat the US, who were defeated by Wales in their opening match.
